It was a perfect Saturday October morning in Caledon for Kathy & Dan’s wedding.
Did you know that Caledon was ranked as Canada’s safest city by Maclean’s? It certainly did have a peaceful air about it.
At St. John’s Church Albion, the priest was very photographer-friendly. Since I was shooting solo, I wasn’t planning to take photos of Kathy getting out of the limo because I didn’t want to risk missing the beginning of the procession (this is where having a second shooter is especially useful). But the priest made sure to pace everything such that I had time to catch a few snaps of Kathy outside the church and get back into position inside the church before the procession began. It was a small thing, really, but it was one of those little details that made my job easier and resulted in a better final product for Kathy & Dan.

Dan’s uncle (?) was so hilarious. He insisted that the left side of his face was his “good side” and shook his fist every time he caught me trying to shoot his “bad side.” Hahaa!!
We had some lovely fall colors and sunlight during the portrait session at The Manor.

Kathy & Dan met while playing hockey. But since I know them primarily in a picture-taking capacity, I have difficulty imagining Kathy suited up to play hockey. Alas, although we wanted to, we didn’t get a chance to shoot Kathy in her dress wearing her roller blades!

Kathy’s dad wonders aloud why anyone who could grow a full head of hair (Dan) would choose to shave it all off.

Kathy & Dan – Thank you for choosing me to take your wedding photos. Congratulations and all the best! :)
