I met Carolyn & Kuan in university, which was almost 14 years ago. *boggle* But what’s even more mind-boggling is that I’ve known Jake for his ENTIRE LIFE! It’s not often you can say that about someone, although Jake is only…what…not even 2 years old, haha.
We had super supreme super bowl good light and autumn colors on this lovely October afternoon at Phyllis Rawlinson Park. Jake was mostly interested in running around and exploring the surroundings, but he did allow his parents to give him a quick kiss. Judging by his expression, it wasn’t quick enough, and he was off running again as soon as it was over.
The funny thing with kids is that you never know what kind of expression you’re going to get when you take the picture. Their faces are in constant flux.
One second they’re staring at the Spousal Unit in total concentration and the next they’ve got giant alligator tears running down their cheeks.
I suppose it’s altogether possible that the Spousal Unit provoked him somehow. But not enough to stop Jake from looking over in the Spousal Unit’s direction every once in a while to see what new mischievousness was going on.
And then I had Carolyn and Kuan run up and down the gravel path with Jake buckled into his Radio Flyer. We did a lot of takes for these two photos, and yes, Jake is looking at the Spousal Unit in the second photo and not at me. Argh!
Happily married for 5 years!
The next chapter is due later this year. Carolyn’s really hoping for a girl so she can indulge in buying cute girlie things. :)
